JACKSON UMC ACTIVITIES
Every First Sunday "The Breakfast Club" Sunday school class meets in the fellowship hall to discuss current events as relates to our faith.
Every Fifth Sunday there is an ecumenical service rotating at various churches, including the Methodist, Catholic, and Second Baptist and Trinity Baptist churches. The offering received in that service goes into a community fund to help transients in need.
Every Tuesday morning at 9:00am we meet for Bible Study. We are currently completing a study on prayer. All are welcome.
Once a month the UMW meets, usually at various members' homes. The next meeting will be on Aug. 6 at 6:30pm at the church
You are invited to join our choir. All that is required is a love of singing. Choir practice is on Wednesdays at 6:00pm.
There are Sunday School classes for all children through the 12th grade. Sunday School begins at 9:45am. Our new Nursery has just been completed
Every Summer there is a Vacation Bible School for the children 4-12. This year's VBS is CAMP EDGE and will be held July 20-24, 9:00am-noon for children 4-12. Anyone who would like to help, please email Jacksonum@aol.com.
Jackson UMC is proud to be the sponsor of scout troop #51. There have been 6 young men who received the rank of Eagle Scout this past year. Congratulations to these boys and their parents.
THE YOUTH GROUP meets on Sundays at 4:00pm in the youth room, located in the basement of the education wing.
THE JUNIOR YOUTH meet every second and fourth Sunday at 4:30pm in the fellowship hall.
There is a children's time during worship and a nursery available for infants - 4 yrs. old for those who would like to use it.
A Disciple I class meets each Sunday morning at 9:30am upstairs in the education wing.
Disciple II Bible Study meets on Sundays at 4:00pm.
There is a Bible Study for young adults, 18-36, every other Wednesday at various member's homes, which includes dinner. Please email Rev. Rhonda at utila675@aol.com or Meg at southernbelle-78cox.net for more information on the next meeting.
